Instant Markdown Notes
A Lightweight Note App for People Who Think in Bullet Points
✍️ Insta MD Notes
Have you ever found yourself mid-meeting, mid-idea, or mid-chaos — with nowhere to quickly capture a thought?
I’ve been there.
🗒️ Sticky notes.
🧮 Terminal editors.
🌐 Browser tabs with “Untitled Docs.”
And then later? Gone. Forgotten. Unsearchable.
So I built something better.
🛠️ Meet: Instant Markdown Notes
A distraction-free, cross-platform desktop note-taking app that’s fast, minimal, and entirely local.
No login, no cloud, no waiting. Just open and type.
This is my humble solution to everyday digital scribbling — one that I now use daily for:
Dev standups
One-line to-dos
Adhoc meeting takeaways
Code snippets and drafts
Journaling moments before they slip away
🚀 What It Does
✅ Simple Markdown editor with real-time preview
✅ Auto-saves every keystroke with timestamped entries
✅ Notes are stored in day-wise files in your system
✅ Launch from anywhere using Ctrl+Alt+N (or Cmd+Alt+N on macOS)
✅ Runs in the background with a tray menu
✅ Starts on system boot, so it’s always ready
✅ Works across macOS, Linux, and Windows
🧠 How It Works
When you launch the app (or hit the shortcut), it opens up a clean editor.
You type. It auto-saves.
Each note is prepended into a file for today (like 2025-06-07.md), giving you a tidy, chronological log of your thoughts.
Bonus: You can hide the preview if you just want raw text.
